There’s More to Drones than Mysterious Lights. A Multibillion-Dollar Drone Delivery Market is Taking Shape.

Good to see Matternet featured in Barron's as part of Andy Serwer's in-depth look at the fast-developing drone delivery market.

The article highlights the remarkable advancements being made in the sector experiencing rapid growth. Today, drones complete more than 14,000 deliveries daily worldwide, and this technology is poised to become a cornerstone of modern logistics. PwC projects that by 2034, the drone delivery market could grow to 800 million deliveries annually, moving $65 billion in goods.

Our CEO, Andreas Raptopoulos, highlighted the potential for drone technology to transform delivery in densely populated urban areas: “You could have drone activity in New York City. We have looked at a couple of things on the medical side, even in Manhattan. We have had operations in Zurich.”

At Matternet, we’re driving this transformation, focusing on autonomous delivery systems that will meet the growing last mile requirements needed in today's economy. To capitalize on demand, we are leading the development of a dedicated regulatory framework to enable the growth of the sector.

From delivering medical supplies in urban hubs and supporting critical infrastructure, we are expanding to the home. Last year, we started services in Mountain View, to redefine what's possible in food and restaurant delivery
